The People of CRC
John F.
Keane, president and founder of Capitol Risk Concepts,
Ltd., is personally involved with all clients, directing CRC’s
technical committee, service group, insurance marketers, and claims
department on a day-to-day basis to make certain that CRC clients
receive the very best service. In addition, John
makes frequent visits to review client needs firsthand, and
recommends any coverage adjustments necessary to meet changing
circumstances.
John holds a degree in electrical engineering, and uses his unique technical background
to good advantage in behalf of CRC’s clients. His 33
years of insurance industry experience has produced exclusive methods
for providing low-cost, high-quality insurance portfolios for
companies ranging in size from 10 million to 500 million in sales.
Having begun his career as a public utility field engineer, John later worked for a machine tool
manufacturer, and held a supervisory position in military air
defense operations. His experience as an account executive
at Arkwright-Boston Insurance Company – where he provided
highly-sophisticated engineering-oriented property insurance to
Fortune 500 companies – makes him uniquely qualified to develop risk protection programs.
John has achieved international recognition for the creation of
specialized seafood industry insurance programs, most notable among
them, the broadest marine cargo change of temperature coverages, as
well as coverages for FDA
rejection, product contamination and consequential damage liability
resulting from product contamination.
John’s unique technical knowledge enables him to satisfy a
diversity of client needs, providing
coverage for exotic, highly sophisticated risks understood by few competitors in the insurance industry.
John has created numerous special insurance
programs – from liquid chromatography to thin-film disposition to
solid rocket fuel to medical malpractice – that have stood the
test of time.

Vincent Keane, a second
generation member of the CRC team, is one of CRC’s most knowledgeable Insurance
Advisors. Vincent has a B.A. in English and Classical
Rhetoric, graduating from Hobart College with honors. He also holds several
business and insurance qualification certificates, including certification
in Non-Profit Arts Management from NYU, Seafood Sensory Evaluation from NMFS,
and numerous advanced insurance training certifications. In his life
outside insurance, Vincent is a member of the board of directors of two
visual and performing arts organizations in New York City, and is a topnotch
photographer.
Vincent, like his
associates at CRC, knows that the role of insurance advisor goes far beyond
that of the typical insurance broker. He believes that knowing all about a
client’s particular industry is as important as knowing the insurance
products specifically designed to protect that industry. By understanding a
client’s particular business risks, he is able to provide them with the
insurance coverage they need for full protection.
“Our approach,” he says,
“is to learn as much as possible about a client’s own particular needs, then
validate the necessity for insurance coverage and design effective and
affordable solutions.” Vincent says that his primary role – to his clients
and prospective clients alike – is “to gather pertinent risk data, quantify
those risks, then orchestrate informed decision-making by their management.”
Using the CRC approach, Vincent regularly discovers and eliminates major uninsured
risks in a prospective client’s insurance portfolio. Vincent has developed
considerable expertise in the niche industries of his clientele, often
preventing the kind of devastating losses that could have put them out of
business.
And, in keeping with CRC’s
history of developing new insurance products to fill immediate business
needs, Vincent has been instrumental in spearheading the creation of two
highly diverse insurance programs that address major uninsured risks – one
for art dealers and the other covering lobster mortality.

Michael J. Lieberman
is one of CRC’s leading Insurance Advisors. Michael attended West
Virginia University and received a B.A. in Arts-Music, with a minor in
business management. In addition, he has gained considerable experience
managing restaurants in Manhattan. And to the pleasure of his associates at
CRC, Michael is a world-class singer with a voice that could easily make
waves on Broadway.
Michael is continually
seeking knowledge – inside and outside of the insurance industry – that will
enable him to better serve CRC’s clients. He readily embraces the CRC
concept of knowing as much as (or more than) his clients know about their
own businesses.
Further contributing to
CRC’s seafood insurance expertise, Michael has recently received
certification in Seafood Sensory Evaluation from NMFS. In addition, he has
been actively involved in many insurance qualification programs, including
insurance law, environmental law, general liability, and international
marine cargo, and earned a Commercial Lines Coverage Specialist
designation in 2003.
Capable of structuring the
most complex coverage to meet the specific requirements of an international
business, Michael works closely with clients to ensure that all their risk
management needs are addressed. He prides himself on providing his clients
with peace of mind. He notes that “a client can be confident they
have the necessary coverage when they’ve been actively involved in the
design process.” And Michael is enthusiastic about providing his clients
with service that goes far beyond the industry norm. “With the dedicated
team of insurance professionals we have at CRC, I’m sure our clients receive
a level of service that’s unparalleled in the insurance industry.”
Michael’s enthusiasm and
attention to detail have made him a valuable member of CRC’s team of
insurance experts. He takes pleasure in putting together coverage that
truly protects a client against uninsured risks. “My greatest job
satisfaction comes from knowing that I’ve taken care of all of a client’s
insurance needs.”
